Why Dig-Safe?

Before ANY digging, trenching, or boring work: Call Dig-Safe (Alberta: 1-800-242-3447). Utility locators mark all buried lines. Hitting lines = death or major injury.

Dig-Safe Process

  1. Call 24-48 hours before digging
  2. Provide project location, scope, dates
  3. Locators mark lines with paint/flags
  4. Verify all marks before digging
  5. Hand-dig near marks to confirm location

If You Hit a Utility

Electrical: DO NOT TOUCH. Call 911. Keep others clear.

Gas: Evacuate immediately. Call 911. Do NOT use cell phones near gas (static risk).

Water/Sewer: Stop digging. Notify site supervisor. Mark area.
